Using Custom Fields on Samples
Custom fields let you add structured metadata to your samples beyond the standard title, description, and image. Your workspace admin defines which custom fields are available, and they appear on every sample record.
Where custom fields appear
Custom fields show up on the Add Sample and Edit Sample forms, and on sample detail views. If a field is marked as required, you must fill it in before saving a sample.
Types of custom fields
Depending on what your admin has configured, you may see fields like:
- Text – Short text input (e.g., Finish type, Material)
- Textarea – Longer text for notes or specs
- Number – Numeric values (e.g., MOQ, weight)
- Select / Radio – Choose from predefined options
- Checkbox – Yes/no toggles
- Date – Date picker
- File upload – Attach documents like spec sheets
- Email / URL – Validated email or web address fields
Filling in custom fields
When creating or editing a sample, scroll down past the description to find the custom fields section. Required fields are marked and must be completed before saving.
