Shipping Overview

SampleHQ supports two ways to handle shipping: manually or through the Shippo integration. You can choose the approach that fits your workflow, and even mix both depending on the situation.

Manual shipping

You can ship orders using your own process outside of SampleHQ. When you do:

  • Pack the order using your preferred method and carrier.
  • Purchase a shipping label through your carrier’s website, your existing shipping software, or any other tool you use today.
  • Enter the tracking number manually on the order detail page in SampleHQ.
  • Update the order status to Shipped.

Manual shipping works for any carrier and any shipping method. There is no requirement to connect Shippo.

Shippo integration

For a more streamlined workflow, connect your Shippo account to SampleHQ. With Shippo connected, you can:

  • Compare rates across multiple carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and more) directly from the order detail page.
  • Purchase and download shipping labels without leaving SampleHQ.
  • Receive tracking updates via Shippo webhooks.
  • Generate labels in bulk for multiple orders at once.
  • Validate addresses before shipping.

Which approach to use

If your team already has a shipping workflow that works, manual shipping keeps things simple. If you want to compare rates, generate labels, and track shipments all in one place, the Shippo integration saves time. You can also use Shippo for most orders and fall back to manual shipping when needed.
