Setting Up BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

BYOK mode lets you connect your own AI provider instead of using SampleHQ’s managed AI. This gives you control over which model is used and how your data is processed.

Supported providers

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • Other providers via OpenRouter

How to set up BYOK

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > System Settings.
  2. In the AI configuration section, select BYOK mode.
  3. Choose your AI provider from the dropdown.
  4. Enter your API key.
  5. Save.

What to know

  • You are responsible for the cost of API calls to your provider.
  • Your API key is stored encrypted in the SampleHQ database.
  • All AI features (chat, function calling, watches) work the same regardless of which provider you use.
  • BYOK is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
