AI Usage and Limits

SampleHQ tracks AI usage to help you monitor consumption and costs, especially if you are using BYOK mode with your own API key.
What is tracked
- Token count: The number of input and output tokens used across all AI interactions.
- Request count: How many AI requests have been made.
- Cost tracking: Estimated cost based on token usage and provider pricing.
Rate limits
To prevent excessive usage, AI requests are rate-limited. The specific limits depend on your plan and AI mode. If you hit a rate limit, wait a moment before making another request.
Viewing usage
Account owners can view AI usage data in System Settings. This shows a breakdown of usage over time so you can monitor trends and budget accordingly.
Managed vs BYOK costs
In Managed mode, AI costs are included in your SampleHQ subscription. In BYOK mode, you pay your AI provider directly based on your usage.
