Address Validation

Updated Apr 4, 2026 Shipping

SampleHQ validates shipping addresses before labels are generated to reduce failed deliveries and returned packages.

How address validation works

When you enter a shipping address on the Create Order page or during label generation, SampleHQ checks the address against postal databases. If the address has issues (missing apartment number, incorrect zip code, undeliverable location), you will see a warning.

Address autocomplete

The shipping address field uses Google Places autocomplete. As you type, suggested addresses appear. Selecting a suggestion fills in the full address with the correct formatting, reducing entry errors.

Correcting invalid addresses

If validation flags an issue, you can correct the address before purchasing a label. Common issues include incomplete addresses, mismatched city/state/zip combinations, and addresses that carriers cannot deliver to.

Updating CRM records

If you correct an address that was originally pulled from your CRM, you can push the updated address back to the CRM record. This keeps your CRM data accurate for future orders and ensures the next time someone creates an order for this contact, the correct address is already there.
